Overview & Highlights

Welcome to Wagnerin, a charming café nestled in the picturesque village of Nussdorf, Vienna, where each visit transforms into an unforgettable culinary experience. Located at Zahnradbahnstraße 11, 1190 Wien, Austria, Wagnerin is not just a place to grab a bite; it's a delightful retreat that seamlessly blends warmth, hospitality, and exceptional cuisine.

The café prides itself on offering a menu that exudes both creativity and tradition, emphasizing fresh, high-quality ingredients. Start your day with the invigorating Lebensfreude, a breakfast masterpiece featuring organic ham from Thum paired with horseradish or smoked salmon dressed in dill mustard sauce, complemented by feta, olives, creamy avocado spread, a soft organic egg, homemade jam, and butter, all for just €14.80. Alternatively, if you're more inclined towards plant-based options, the Pflanz di proposal is a floral arrangement of crunchy cucumbers, carrot sticks, guacamole, berry yogurt, salad, homemade spreads, and jam, artfully presented for €13.80.

For a lighter yet satisfying choice, the Egg Bowl celebrates the delightful pairing of two organic eggs and avocado resting on a bed of fresh greens, available for a mere €7.80. Each dish promises to awaken your taste buds, showcasing the thoughtful care that the owners, Moni and Stefanie, inject into their cooking.

Wagnerin isn't just about the food; the café’s atmosphere adds to the entire experience. With lovely decor full of character and a cozy fireplace that invites you to linger, it feels like a home away from home. The staff, known for their friendliness and attentiveness, frequently provide English menus without you having to ask, making every guest feel welcomed and relaxed. The well-maintained facilities, including thoughtful details like tampons in the restroom, ensure a comfortable visit for everyone, though do note that the unique layout means the restrooms are located up a staircase.

The rave reviews from guests reveal how Wagnerin holds a special place in many hearts. Take Rebecca McLaughlin’s words about her delightful tart and spritzer, or JayDub’s effusive praise for the sweet bowl and poke bowl—he returned three times in just three days! Alan Oei commended the superb tuna bowl alongside house-brewed wines, while David McKenzie noted how much his kids loved the café’s thin-crust pizzas. The ambiance is described as cozy and inviting, making this café a perfect spot for family dining or a casual catch-up with friends.

So, if you find yourself in Vienna, take the time to indulge in what Wagnerin has to offer. It’s not just about dining; it's about savoring moments. As Tony Matthew Austin beautifully articulated, visiting Wagnerin became the highlight of his trip, weaving together delicious food, heartfelt hospitality, and the quaint charm of Nussdorf. Prepare to leave with not just a satisfied palate but also a warm heart.

I had a very tasty tart and a spritzer. The waitress was extremely friendly, and brought us English menus unprompted. I look forward to going again. The decor was interesting, and tampons in the bathroom is a very helpful touch. The toilet is up some stairs which may not be accessible to everyone.

A great place in the heart of Nussdorf, Austria at the base of the Austrian vineyards. The staff is very nice, they speak English and have English menus, and their food is excellent. I ate here three times in three days it was so good. Try the sweet bowl and the Poke bowl, they are excellent. Their wine selection is also great. The restaurant is owned and operated by a family that also grows wine in the surrounding hills. Their wine menu has menu wines produced by them.

Lovely decor and clean place. Very friendly staff and owners. The tuna bowl was superb and you can also have their house brewed wines.

Love this place!!! Great food and the staff is very friendly. Have been to this place several times and the Bowls they make are very delicious. My kids loved the flat breads (thin crust pizza's) they make. Atmosphere is wonderful.

Absolutely delicious. So cozy. They had a little fireplace in the winter. Looking forward to next time :)

LOVE WAGNERIN!!!!! Moni the owner and chef makes delicious, tasty and healthy food. I'd never been to Vienna before. I booked an AirBnB in Nussdorf, Vienna and what beautiful village type atmosphere we found ourselves in. We ate everyday at Wagnerin. Thank you Moni and Stefanie for the lovely wines, food and hospitality.
